U.S. Rep. Victoria Spartz (R) appears to have established a new Hoosier congressional fundraising record for cash raised from an election through the end of the succeeding off-year, garnering more than $2 million in contributions. Of her overall 2021 contributions, $487,712 was derived from individuals ($1,581,675 for the cycle-to-date through December 31), and $128,610 from political action committees ($505,845 for the cycle) . . . the campaign committees for Rep. Spartz and U.S. Reps. Jim Baird (R) and Trey Hollingsworth (R) still owe the candidate six-figures for loans made during their respective original campaigns . . . U.S. Rep. Jim Banks (R) hits the million-dollar mark in cash-on-hand at the end of an off-year for the first time, joining U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski (R) and Rep. Spartz.
U.S. Rep. André Carson (D) no doubt could have hit the mark, but balances the equilibrium between his contributions and expenditures such that he would maintain a cash-on-hand balance hovering slightly below the seven-figure threshold, customary practice for Team Carson . . . Rep. Banks, who tallies the most ever raised by an incumbent in CD 03, also raises $477,620 for his leadership PAC, House Conservatives Fund, and contributes $142,000 to other incumbents and candidates in 2021. He also directly raised $292,932 for the National Republican Campaign Committee to help support House Republican efforts to win back the House Majority in the 2022 midterm elections.
